چکیده
Neonatal Late-Onset Sepsis (LOS) is a leading cause of mortality in the Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The microbial characteristics LOS are primary importance guiding clinical antisepsis practice, and strategies to prevent treat neonatal LOS, turn, influence pattern pathogens. This study retrospective descriptive with cross-sectional approach conducted between 2016 until 2020 ward (level II-III) Sanglah General Hospital, Bali. Data collected consists demography, characteristics, laboratory results, outcomes. Subjects this dominated by male (64%), gestational age > 37 weeks (56%), born ≥ 2.500 grams (54%), last mother education mostly Senior High School spontaneous delivery method (54%) 31 (62%) subjects were referral from other hospital health care. Most lethargic (68%) 15 (30%) died. Laboratory finding normal leukocyte, neutrophil, lymphocyte, hemoglobin, thrombocyte IT ratio but have higher procalcitonin result. Poor outcome group male, smaller age, VLBW, neonates who experience lethargy, temperature instability, respiratory distress got positive blood culture.

Epidemiologic features of early onset sepsis in neonatal ward of Shabih Khani hospital in Kashan
Background and objective: Neonatal sepsis is defined as presence of clinical signs accompanied by positive blood culture in newborns less than one month of age. Sepsis is a common cause of hospital admission in neonates, and it is known as one of the main causes of mortality among them, not only in developed countries but in developing ones. Delay in diagnosis and appropriate antibiotic therapy...
متن کاملNeonatal sepsis in the neonatal intensive care unit: characteristics of early versus late onset.
Neonatal sepsis is a major cause of death in newborns despite sophisticated neonatal intensive care. This retrospective study reviewed the clinical characteristics of cases of culture-proven sepsis in a neonatal intensive care unit from January 1992 to December 2001. Patients were divided into those with onset of sepsis in the first 7 days of life (early-onset group) and those with onset after ...
متن کاملLate-onset neonatal sepsis: recent developments
The incidence of neonatal late-onset sepsis (LOS) is inversely related to the degree of maturity and varies geographically from 0.61% to 14.2% among hospitalised newborns. Epidemiological data on very low birth weight infants shows that the predominant pathogens of neonatal LOS are coagulase-negative staphylococci, followed by Gram-negative bacilli and fungi. Due to the difficulties in a prompt...

Background: Neonatal sepsis is a major cause of mortality and morbidity, especially in developing countries. The goal of the present study was to determine the bacterial etiology and antibiotic sensitivity patterns of neonatal sepsis. Methods: This cross sectional study was conducted on 208 neonates admitted with clinically suspected sepsis over a period of 30 months. Sepsis was divided into ea...
